Air Hygiene Monitoring
Current Health and Safety Legislation dictates that employers have a duty of care to ensure that employees and visitors to thier premises operate in a safe environment. European and UK legislation exists to protect workers and ensure acceptable levels of air and water hygiene. The European Communities Workplace Directive is implimented in the UK by the workplace HEALTH, SAFETY and WELFARE REGULATIONS 1992.
Air Hygiene Monitoring The Health and Safety Commissons Approved code of practice and guidance L24, HMSO 1992, states that “mechanical ventilation systems, including air conditioning systems, should be regularly cleaned, tested and maintained to ensure they are kept clean and free from anything which may contaminate the air.” This act applies to new buildings from the publication date 1992, and applies to older buildings from 1st January 1996. Therefore, all systems should have had Risk Assessment Surveys carried out prior to this date |

How Electron Can Help Mechanical Cleaning EWH believe that the only way to achieve a quality result from cleaning is to utilise a combination of methods, air blast, rotary brush, vacuum, scrape, etc. As in many cases, use of only one method is insufficient to meet the standards as required by health and safety regulations. Part of the works will be (where applicable) to fit access panels which conform to regulations at the correct intervals, dependent on ductwork size. During the cleaning process any minor corrosion is treated accordingly and major problems reported to the client. During the works protective sheeting and powerful extraction is employed to prevent the spread of dust and debris. All debris will be removed from site in sealed containers and upon completion the Cleanliness Certificate is issued for you to display. Some of EWH's air treatment and monitoring services include:
Disinfection is applied by means of dispersing a fine biocide mist or fog into the air supply system immediately after the cleaning works are complete. The formulation of this biocide is reviewed and changed bi-annualy to prevent acquired immunity building up within the system. |
